About the Kentucky Science Center

727 W Main Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40202

For well over a century, the Kentucky Science Center has been helping people of all ages learn more about the world surrounding them. The building first opened its doors in 1871 as a cabinet of the Public Library System of Kentucky. It was officially transformed into the Science Center in 1977 when the downtown area underwent revitalization. Since then, they have become the leading place where families can go to discover things they never knew before. The center empowers individuals across the community to dive into STEM and programming while applying their knowledge to real-world problems. Throughout your visit, you will get the chance to choose your own adventure, and their memberships make it easy to come back and switch it up as much as you want.

Explore All The Fun Of Science

The Kentucky Science Center offers exhibits and hands-on activities that kids of all ages will love. They understand how crucial these years are to your child’s development, and they give you no shortage of ways to engage with it. If your little engineer loves to build, head over to the Who Forted area, where they can use found objects to build a shelter. If they are more into puzzles, check out the Science in Play section, where they can explore colors, lights, and shapes before heading over to the water table. Their Makerplace is the perfect destination for artists ages 8 and up, and their The World We Create will let younger kids engage in science challenges firsthand. There are also a number of traveling exhibits, so your adventure will always be a little different.

If your child loves the museum as much as I think they will, you can check out their summer camps. Here, kids from preschool through 8th grade can spend a week trying out their own experiments. The center also hosts birthday parties, making it the best spot for an unforgettable celebration.

I’m Jessica Lagomarcino

(LAH-GO-MAR-SEE-NO.. I KNOW ITS A MOUTHFUL!)

I’ve been in this business for 15 years now, and though I love working with new clients all the time, many of my clients have been with me forever (many for more than a decade now!) I think it’s because we have bonded over the years and smiles and the way their kids change from year to year. Plus, I think it helps that one of my top goals is to make our sessions fun for kiddos and reluctant dads and anybody in between. It’s one of my greatest honors in life to cause your true personalities, laughs, and love for each other to pour out and then to capture it artfully. I think God has given me this skill so that I can preserve for posterity the chubby thighs of your precious baby, the giggles of your kids, and the way that your love looks at you. I can’t wait to make magic together!
