When you are a parent, one of the best tools you can have is a list of kid-friendly places you can go once your child starts to feel restless. Your child has an unlimited amount of energy, and you need ways to engage their curiosity while keeping them active. If you could use some guidance with that, I am here to help you out! As a Louisville family photographer, I get the chance to chat with lots of parents about their absolute favorite spots in the city. If you need a list of things to do in Louisville with toddlers, I would love to give you my top recommendations!
Keep This Year Exciting With Some Super Fun Things To Do In Louisville With Toddlers
Louisville Zoo
1100 Trevilian Way, Louisville, Kentucky 40213
The Louisville Zoo is always a great spot for toddlers to explore. Of course, you are going to be able to go for a stroll while viewing all the animals, but the zoo gives you customized experiences that your toddler will adore. They offer camel rides, giraffe feedings, and a discovery center where your child can learn all about their favorite creatures.
The Parklands of Floyds Fork
Beckley Creek Pkwy, Louisville, Kentucky 40245
The Parklands of Floyds Fork is my top recommendation on those gorgeous Louisville days when you have just got to get out of the house with your toddlers. This area actually has four parks in one. No matter what you are in the mood for, you are going to find it here. From splash pads and playgrounds to hiking trails and live music, there’s always a new adventure to chase!
Kentucky Science Center
727 West Main Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40202
The Kentucky Science Center is one of those places you are going to adore for years to come. Starting at the toddler stage, your child is going to have no shortage of ways to learn about the world thanks to all their hands-on activities. During their visit here, they can build their own creations, find out about different climates, and make their own pillow fort.
All About Kids
2531 Blankenbaker Pkwy, Louisville, Kentucky 40299
All About Kids is a Louisville gym that offers both structured classes and open gym time for toddlers. They provide a host of different options, including ninja warrior classes, gymnastics, cheerleading, and basketball. They also have a pool so your child can start learning the basics of swimming for a lifetime of fun!
Glow Worm Play Cafe
962 Barrett Ave, Louisville, Kentucky 40204
Lastly, Glow Worm Play Cafe is my favorite rec for mamas who just need a bit of a break. This center has two locations across the city, so you can head to the one closest to you. Your child will have a place where they can play with engaging toys and make some new friends. Meanwhile, you will get to try out some coffee from their on-site cafe, use their wifi to get some work done, or shop for some baby outfits you can’t find anywhere else!
