It’s Nice to meet you

I’m Jessica

photographer & mama

I always knew I was a creative– but I hadn’t yet plunged into photography as a medium until age 22 when my friends asked me to photograph their engagement, because they just felt confident I would do so beautifully. That ask set me on a path of exploring what would become a passion that has filled the last two decades– memorializing the moments, the details, the love, in a way that I found beautiful and satisfying to my creative side.

Once I became a mother, almost 13 years ago now, I transitioned into photographing families– their new beginnings and their love stories. But more than that, I realized that as time goes on, these photos become more and more precious with every passing year.

I realized that in old age, the things I would treasure most are photos of all of the seasons of life. Not files stored on corrupt hard drives, or ancient phones, but albums and framed artwork, and boxes of loose prints to flip through.

But motherhood is full, and even as a photographer I struggle to make this happen.

So, the goal of Jessica Lagomarcino Photography is to artfully, beautifully, capture portraits of your family, and then to serve you by providin heirloom art with which you can decorate your home.

Even with it’s ups and downs, your life, your story, is beautiful and I can’t wait to create images that show that!

my “why”

IT all begins with family…

THE HEART BEHIND WHAT i DO

Gotta love snapshots from the 80’s and 90’s, right? I remember clearly a kindergarten field trip to the St. Louis Zoo because 1)my mom was there and 2)I had a little film camera and took all the pics I wanted of animals and friends. I think I still have them in an album downstairs.  Photos remind us of our heritage, our past, our memories, and I take these things very seriously. I’ve become somewhat of the family historian, digitizing and organizing any old family photos or home movies I can get my hands on, and of course making sure to take updated photos of everybody, all the time. These things are important to me, and in addition to my draw toward the creative nature of photography, I love the memorializing aspect as well. It’s so fun to draw out the beautiful with my lens, and then to have that image to enjoy for generations to come.
