Calypso Cove Family Water Park is a YMCA-owned Louisville, KY spot that really does have something for everyone. The park has winding waterslides, a tot-friendly adventure bay, a zero-entry pool, and shaded seats where you can sit back and relax. In order to access the park, you will need to add the option onto your community-wide membership. If you want to check it out, you can just call up to your local facility and request to have it added.
Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay

If you have older Louisville, KY, kids ready for a water park, you need to head on over to Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay ASAP! This sprawling park has tons of options for thrill-seekers, including the Wave Runner or their legendary Deep Water Dive. There are smaller water slides, a family wave pool, and a lazy river. Their Splash Zone is a stress-free space where toddlers and preschoolers can splash around. Because it is attached to the Kentucky Kingdom, you can head on over and dry off with some roller coasters!
The Maples Park

If you don’t feel like committing to a full water park with your Louisville, KY younger kids, you can head on over to Maples Park. This interactive water area has spots where smaller kids can splash around without you having to constantly stress. The area is paved with concrete, and there are benches all around so you can stay comfortable while watching your child. There are several other playgrounds in the park that you can check out if your little one needs to take a break.
River Run

Just across state lines, you will find River Run, an area made specifically for younger kids. The parks have several areas where kids of all ages can beat the heat. While older kids will love the winding water slides and the tornado, smaller children will have several areas with splash pads and wading pools. Both you and your toddler can stay cool while having a little bit of distance from the chaos. They also have lots of cabanas and a lazy river.
